Charlie commented on Shopify Payments showing as Stripe on bank statement

Here's the email my client got when he did a test order. It's with American Express.

He said that this seems to be while it was pending and then once it had gone through it showed up as the store name.

Any ideas?

Print Invoice App for packing by Daniel H

I'm so suprised how hard it is to find an app that will each day email us a PDF document with all of yesterdays invoices ready to print in 1 go for our packers to despatch orders.

We could settle for an app that we have to go in and select yesterdays date but I can't find one that then displays all the orders on one page because most seem to only let you display 50 to 100 orders per page but we have more than this.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Force a shipping option based on the payment option? Afterpay requires tracking but not all customers select the tracked option! by Nicola Cann

Hi all!
I'm setting up Afterpay on my website and afterpay requires that you post with tracking (and also with larger orders I prefer to ship with tracking anyway) and was wondering if there was a way to require that if the customer is paying with Afterpay that they select the tracked shipping option (rather than the cheaper untracked shipping) ?

Cheers, Nicola

Hi Daniel,

I'm afraid I don't have an immediate solution for you but I'd love to know more about your invoice template if you can share it?

Hi, Olbia!

Ted here from Shopify. :-)

You should be able to access your Confirmation email template by clicking "Settings > Notifications > Under shipping, "Shipping confirmation email" in your admin. Once you are in the template, you can edit, send a test email or preview the template as shown here. If you are looking to edit the template, I'd recommend taking a look at this guide for more info.

Let me know how this goes!

Hi, Charlie!

Thanks for letting us know! Could you get the account owner to email support@shopify.com for us? You can be CC'd in the email no problem. When you do, you should receive an automated email back with a ticket number assigned. If you let me know what that ticket number is, I'll take it out of the queue and have our Billing team take a look. :-)

Let me know how this goes!

Jasper commented on Get 3D Secure with Stripe on a Shopify ecommerce

Acording to Stripe this information seems to be incorrect. Below is the answer I got from Stripe:

Stripe does not maintain any integrations. We provide the information necessary to make a Stripe integration, but the creation of the integration itself is entirely up to the merchant. You can view our integration resources at the following link:

https://stripe.com/docs/quickstart

Many merchants prefer to do as you've done and instead of creating a Stripe integration (or paying a developer to make one), they'll make use of an existing e-commerce platform (in this case, Shopify) that provides a Stripe integration for them. In these cases as its the platform that has created the integration, they are the ones responsible for any changes that may be required.

As far as Stripe is concerned, you're perfectly able to implement 3D Secure as part of your checkout process. You can read exactly on how to do this at the link below:

https://stripe.com/docs/sources/three-d-secure#when-to-use-3d-secure

However, to do this your integration need to be making use of Stripe.js and Elements. I can't comment on whether or not Shopify are using these as part of their integration. If they're not, you won't be able to implement 3D Secure using the method. This means you would either need to have a new integration that makes use of Stripe.js and Elements, or you'd need to reach out to Shopify and see if they would be willing to devise a method in which you can use 3D Secure using the integration they've created.

So could you please verify who is maintaining this integration and ask to add 3D secure?

Hello,

I got a problem at my checkout. I added the shipping rate and costs in my settings. Additional to the weight.

After that I added a weight to my products, but If I checkout with the product, the shipping costs does not appear.

Where is the problem?

Can you define box size per product variant, but let the product weight calculate the final shipping rate by Lotta Karlsson

I've been looking into different options/apps for my shipping needs but I can't find anything suitable so hoping for some input.

I have three main boxes, which I use for nine different product variants, which differ in size and weight. I use fillers to make up for the difference in box sizes. I would prefer if I could define that Product Variant A, C, and E use Box 1 but then have Fedex and UPS calculate the actual shipping cost depending on the product's weight (which will be different for Product Variant A, C, and E).

I looked at Advanced Shipping Rules and Boxify but neither seem to be able to do this (or am I missing something?).

Try Tobacco Merchant Services.  We have been selling mostly glass pipes through them, but they can help with setting up a vape or ecig merchant account and their payment gateway plugs into most shopping carts, including shopify.

Leon commented on Tracking Shippings outside of US for products dropshipped from AliExpress

Hello, Thur.

Leon here from Shopify Support.

When using AliExpress as a supplier for your store, I recommend only choosing products which offer ePacket trackable shipping and restricting the shipping areas to match those where ePacket is offered.

ePacket is a shipping option commonly offered by merchants who sell in China and Hong Kong. It allows these merchants to provide a fast and affordable shipping option for light packages to a select number of countries. By only selecting ePacket delivery, this ensures faster delivery and provides customers with the option of end-to-end tracking.

More information about which countries are served by ePacket delivery can be found in this blog post.

Another option for fast dropshipping from China is Oberlo Supply, offered by Oberlo. Oberlo offers an easy to use integration that takes a lot of the manual work off your hands. For more information about Oberlo and Oberlo Supply, have a look at this page

Does this help?

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best Wishes,

Leon.

Hey Lotta,

My husband and I created Intuitive Shipping, which can perform the shipping calculation you are looking for. With it, you can create shipping costs based on variants, and create unlimited custom package sizes which will be calculated based on dimensional weight, which means precise shipping rates pulled at checkout. Depending on your exact set up requirements, there’s very likely even more it can do to really optimize your shipping.

We offer a free 14-day live trial, and you can leave it in testing mode before starting your trial so we can really solidify your set up before going live. Please reach out to us at support@intuitiveshipping.com should you have any questions in getting set up.

Warm regards,
Sharon

Order status page not updated for customers - because no tracking info entered? by Matt

I've just noticed that the order tracking page for customers is not being updated when we fulfill an order.

It still just says:

Your shipment is confirmed
We've accepted your order, and we're getting it ready. Come back to this page for updates on your shipment status.

Why is this? We don't use tracking numbers but still want our customers to: 1) get an email that their order has been shipped and 2) be able to look at the page and see that it has been shipped.

We tick the "NOTIFY CUSTOMER OF SHIPMENT" box too. Does the above mean they are not receiving any email either?

This is causing a lot of confusion with our customers.

Hi,

Would like to know if it is necessary to enter the HS Tariff Code under Shipping field in Product. I am dropshipping from AliExpress but I'm not based in US. Would like to sell mainly to US and maybe worldwide as well.

Thanks

Hey there!

Katy here from Shopify. Thanks for posting and welcome to our forum community. 🙂

Sometimes there can be a number of different factors at play, which case shipping rates to not pull through correctly. As the default admin shipping settings operate based on total order weight or price, things such as package weight, product weights or product price can all influence this.

I would love to help you out with this, but without a link or access to your store it can be tricky to determine the exact cause. I've sent you an email so I can verify your details and have a look into this together with you. Do please reply to this email when you can.

Thanks so much!

Katy

Ava commented on Payment gateway that accommodates pre-sale?

Hey, Kate!

My name is Ava, I’m one of Shopify’s Gurus and I’m here to help :)

As Shopify Payments has an authorization period of 7 days, you would need to use a gateway that has a longer authorization period. These are the payment gateways available to you in the United States.

You do have the option of letting the customer know they will be charged directly at the checkout though. This would be instead of authorizing the payment now, then capturing the payment when you are ready to ship the product that was available for pre-sale. The guide you linked goes over how to manually capture payments in detail.

The list I have mentioned above are all the gateways that Shopify are integrated with in the United States. You could always reach out to specific ones and have a chat with their support team to discuss authorization periods, they will have more info for you.

I'm sure some other members of our community can also share their experience with you here!

Let me know if you have any more questions, happy to help :)

Rich Jessee commented on Non DHL shipments showing as DHL when tracking numbers submitted

We use FedEx Ground and LTL. There's no problem with our integrator writing back the tracking numbers. Unfortunately, everytime we use FedEx LTL, Shopify reads it as DHL and sends that notification to the customer. Of course, when our customer clicks for tracking info they get an error from the DHL site. Very Frustrating!!!

Please help!

Shopify marked an order as shipped, but its not shipped by Michael Czeiszperger

I'm new to Shopify, and when the first order went through it was automatically marked as fullfilled and shipped, but I did neither.  The product needs to be shipped, and I was hoping to use the shipping facilities inside Shopify, but there doesn't seem to be a way of marking this as not shipped so I can, um, actually do the shipping.
