Hi, Shopify.

Based on my recent survey, I have over 1000 stores that would love to engage e-commerce. The issue is payment gateway. The official and most popular payment gateway is interswitch, which is not part of your listed payment gateways. Would I be able to integrate this with your platform? Please I don't mind paying an additional fee. My clients are waiting.

Any updates on this feature being any closer to an option?

 

With shipping rates what they are, we can't justify the continued extra hit on promotions. Also, from a marketing standpoint...you almost have to lower the promotional discount to account for the extra "fees" you give up. However, then your promotion does not garner as much attention/sales because it appears to be not as substantial to the consumer.

There are a few options, it really depends on the volume of sales you expect.

PayPal & Shopify Payments = 2.9% and $0.30 per transaction. Pretty basic, but if you don't expect many sales it's a cost effective option.

Authorize.net & Global Gateway (First Data) = much better pricing, for instance for Shopify users my company BizArmour does 0.4% and $0.10 per transaction. There is a $10 monthly charge which includes the gateway. As always interchange pricing is much better than the higher flat rates and there are no hidden non qualified surcharges. Just took a look at your website. I'm willing to bet that due to your ticket size your funds are being held by Stripe (the provider Shopify Payments uses). This is fairly common with providers like stripe and square. The flat rate programs are generally auto approval so until your first sale nothing is actually looked at by an underwriter. Once they do that's when they pull the available information on your business, credit score, business financials. Most cases they will just put the transaction on hold permanently. You get an email requesting the buyers information and order details, but with Stripe they generally wont release your funds or do anything for quite some time.

Hi Derek, That is indeed what is happening. Shopify requested that I send in photo identification this morning and they said they were sending it to an underwriter for approval. I haven't heard anything back yet as to whether or not the approval process has completed. Hopefully I'll hear something soon.

Hi Shopify & everyone else. 

I develop a shopify store for my friends, and we really want to offer the customers to pay with Klarna, as every swedish shops do today. 
I did my research & have read that you are going to support it, actually I read in a thread in this forum you would started in December 2013 ?
So what are the status for support klarna?

Hey Aron!

 

We are still working towards having an integration with Klarna. As you can no doubt guess, establishing integrations do take quite some time, and while we're aware of demand for Klarna, we are still vetting our code to provide this integration.

I'm certain once that integration is available my colleague Louis will communicate this to shop owners.

Definitely appreciate how this is affecting your business. While I don't have a different solution other than the one Ayal previously described, I do know that this is something our development team is working on. I don't have an ETA as to when this will be available, but looking more like a few months. I have added all of you to our internal feature request for this, so when it does get released, you will be notified by email!

Hi all,

Looking for an app that can integrate with Shopify and assist with physical inventory counts using a barcode scanner in my retail store and stockroom. Would like to be able to perform cycling stock-takes limited to a specific vendor.

Related to this, I need to be able to create purchase orders from sales and inventory data without constantly cross-referencing reports. Ideal workflow as follows: App generates inventory list limited to a specific vendor, with current stock on hand shown for each SKU, perhaps also number of items sold in last 30 days and expected stock (from previous purchase orders not yet received). Using that data, I choose SKUs from the list and enter the quantity I want to add to the current purchase order for that vendor. App generates purchase order that can be emailed and saves the data to each ordered SKU as "expected stock". App should be able to then adjust and receive stock when order arrives, moving "expected stock" then received to "stock on hand" column.

I have tried numerous inventory management apps in the Shopify store and so far nothing comes close to being able to meet my store's needs, although I am sure that anyone managing thousands of SKUs from various vendors could appreciate such features! Thanks for any info.

Shopify Order Cancellation Refunds by Madison Wallinger

One of our customers placed an order on January 31st and later that day emailed us to cancel his order. We cancelled his order before we processed it, but now our customer is wondering when he should expect a refund. As he paid via PayPal I was wondering if this is a refund that Shopify has to authorize or if it is on PayPal's side. Does anyone have any insight on how many days this may take for the customer to see the refund on his end? We would like to reply to him as soon as possible.

I suggest you log into your account via PayPal.com and look at your activity. That way you can be sure. It takes 24-48 hours for refunds to post. You can also look in the Shopify Admin for confirmation the refund was communicated. But PayPal.com is what really counts.

So, currently my authorize.net account charges around 2.4%.  If I use authorize.net as my gateway, is Shopify going to charge me an additional 2% on top of that?

Shipstation has been my choice for over 2 years now (and almost 5000 orders) and I am completely satisfied with them. I am actually shocked at the lack of value the others have compared to Shipstation's plans and features. But everyone has to decide, based on their own situation. But you won't be disappointed with Shipstation.

@Kevin -- only if you're on the basic or starter plans. If you're on the unlimited plan, there are no shopify plan transaction fees.

@Glen -- the all-inclusive shopify payments rates by plan are available at www.shopify.com/payments
