So gateway options are based on the information connected to your current store address.
If your store is set to an address in the US, but you wanted to sell in CAD you would therefore need to use a different third-party payment gateway.
This is because US Stores using Shopify Payments can only sell in USD. This is a restriction from our Shopify Payments banking partners, Stripe, though there are different conditions for Stripe as an external gateway, and Stripe is not yet available externally for us in the USA, see the US gateway list here.
In this scenario, because you would be using a third party gateway, not Shopify Payments to process in a different currency. As such, your gateway's transactions would then be subject to transaction fees from Shopify, and the credit card rates from the payment gateway you choose.

If you wanted to use Shopify Payments and sell in CAD, you would need to have your business registered in Canada, and have a physical address there, as well as a bank account in CAD. So perhaps it's worth doing some digging into the gateways above and seeing if there are external gateway options that allow for the conversion process you describe.
I wonder though, if your Canadian store will be identical in all respects to the USD store, you might be able to avail of a multistore discount if you are on the Shopify Plan ($79)? This might allow you to have the second store at a reduced rate of $29 though with the features of the $79 plan. This might help to offset some of the costs? I can't see your account info here, but it might be worth exploring?
Also it's worth checking out the credit card rates for some of the external gateways too, as if their rates are cheaper than those on Shopify Payments there might be some balancing of expenses in that department also, and worth crunching the numbers to see.
I know that having multiple currency affordances is something that many merchants would love, and our teams are aware of this too, so I would hope to see developments there at some stage in the near future.
However these are the infrastructural affordances with the native system so far Uly.

Thank you for your reply. We do have a business registration in Canada as well as mailing address. We just lack a bank account, and it may not be easy to get one without a physical presence in Canada.
On top of your head, do you know of any external gateway that can convert the funds from CAD to USD? We are willing to pay the extra fees for using external gateways for now, but I just don't see any available option.

We seriously need this feature, Im in NZ, and 93 dollars looks a hell of a lot more than 63. It will mean I have to use stripe which will cost me more, as now we will have to pay two transaction fees

If you haven't already, check out the full list of payment gateways available for use in Mexico with your Shopify store.
Each of these third party providers will offer different rates and features, so spend some time researching online and maybe reaching out to a couple of these companies directly. :)
Hopefully some of your fellow Mexican merchants on our forums will be able to help us out here with some recommendations based on their own experiences?

Firstly, sorry to hear about this. No one likes to get a chargeback and it must be especially difficult when you have provided the evidence you had too.
As you said in your post here; Shopify is not involved at all in the chargeback or arbitration process as this is handled purely between you and the customer's banks.
That said, I did want to suggest a fraud protection service you can consider based on your post. :)
We've seen a number of merchants use the underwriting service provided by the Signifyd app.
There is a charge associated with this app, either per order or on an ongoing basis; which you can get more info on here on their pricing page.
Sorry again to hear about your chargeback woes and hope the above service will be of some use to you moving forward. :)

At the moment, you would need to add a credit card to your Shopify account in order to pay your subscription fees.
While we're working on rolling out other payment methods worldwide, for the time being, it would need to be a credit card proper added to your account here.

My name is John and I'm a Guru here at Shopify!
I've had a look at the options here for credit card gateways you can add to your Shopify store based in Brunei and it looks like at the moment it would only be possible to add Mastercard Payment Services.
This means your gateway provided by your bank would not be available for use in your store, as only the Mastercard gateway is available for use with Shopify store in Brunei.
You can still combine this with a PayPal option as well as taking manual or alternative payment methods.

I'm looking for an app or a way to designate (2) different pick-up locations based upon what product the customer is purchasing. I only allow local pickups and dont do any shipping.

Exactly Feruz! I am stuck on that too. Some say offshore is good for e-commerce, while others say it only good for services and you have to have an onshore company for e-commerce with physical products.

When it comes to payment gateways, there are definitely other options for you to use in Romania other than 2Checkout. Take a look at a full list on this page. You can reach out to each third party company to see what requirements each one has, and which ones will let you sell in USD!
