Ted commented on Accepting US currency in Australia

Hi, Brendan!

Ted here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us!

At the moment, the best alternative would be to switch to a different gateway if you would like to sell in USD. Stripe does not offer their own integration in locations where Shopify Payments is available, so it's not currently possible to connect with them. Instead though, you could connect with any of these third-party gateways to sell in USD.

I understand where you're coming from with this and at the moment there is no alternative, however, Shopify is growing all the time and trying to improve where it can. Our Shopify Payments team are working on this feature, however, I wouldn't be able to give you an honest time frame in regards to when this might be announced/launched.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know, we're happy to help!

Thanks a mill!
Ted

AliExpress Supplier with Multiple distribution locations by LCollins

Hi there,

I'm researching suppliers for my shop and notice a number of them ship from both the US and China. My question is: (How) Can I set up my shop so that the items are ordered through the US-based locations only and not China? I know shipping times are a touchy subject for dropshippers, but I'd like to do whatever I can to cut down on the distance (and ultimately the time) my packages have to travel until they arrive at their final destination.

Error message on verifying UPS account by JeffDM

We have a UPS shipping account and the Shopify "Verify your UPS® account" page throws me an unhelpful error and I can't find a troubleshooting guide.

"An error has occured, please try again"

I've tried invoice information from two different invoices, and even retyped them to make sure they're correctly entered.

I've since closed that verification page, gone back into shipping settings, now it's not asking me to correct my UPS settings. Did the verification "take", making it a temporary spurious error? I goto Settings -> Shipping -> Manage Carriers, my shipper number and rate choice is correct, I click "Submit" and the site says "Account Updated" without asking for verification info again.

Thank you.

Hi Brendan - the gateway integration to a USD currency processing account would not be difficult. However, I'm just sending this note in case you are not already aware that the key factor would be that you obtain a USD currency merchant account (MID) if you do not already have this. If your existing merchant account (MID) is for AUD currency, it process in USD regardless of gateway.

we are trying to create quote based on price of $0.00.

Is there anyway to hide the price when it is $0.00 in check out page?  Maybe change it to "--".

Especially this message, we want to remove it "your order is free, no payment is required".

Thanks,

Checking bank account number by Rp20

Hello,

An order was placed in New Zealand via the store three days ago and payment has still not been received in the bank account. Is there a way to check whether I entered my bank details correctly?  The settings < payment

The account number is hidden so I'm unable to confirm whether the correct account number was entered or not.

Many thanks in advance!

Hey, Charles!

My name is Dallas from the Shopify Social Care Team.

If you wanted to change the price that is just shown on the cart there isn't much that can be done with a simple click of a button. When a price is $0.00 it won't be able to be changed from that. Another alternative recommendation that I could suggest would be to contact the Shopify Experts. However, for a customization like this, it isn't guaranteed that they would be able to adjust this either.

As for the wording on the on the cart page, that can be edited in the language section of the Theme Settings. To get there you would go to your store admin and click on Online Store > Themes > Edit Languages.  From there you can type in "your order is free, no payment is required" into the search bar and adjust what you would like it to say from there.

I really hope that this helps to answer your questions! If you have any more questions at all feel free to call us or chat in at any time. Our support is here to help 24/7.

Cheers,
Dallas

Hi there,

Nick here from Shopify.

It is not possible to see the account number once it has been entered like this.  This is for security reasons, in the instance, someone looks over a shoulder and sees the number OR if incorrect details entered that happen to be someone else's, that person's details are then not retrievable. Your best bet here would be to go back and enter new details. But if there are any previous claims you could be missing, your next best step would be to reach out to our support team directly from the link here with a void cheque from your bank account. The team would then be able to double check where the previous payouts went and if they went to the right place also.

Hope this helps explain the why for you and guides you with the next best step. Don't hesitate to ask should you have any other questions about anything.

Kind Regards,

Nick

Hi there,

Nick here from Shopify. 😃

It might be worth reaching out to Paypal again directly about this as the Paypal express checkout is a Gateway available for Cambodian store owners using Shopify. Regarding the other payment gateways you mentioned, they are like Paypal third party payment gateways. A lot of the gateways are very similar besides minor differences. I'll put the link for each gateway below and you can research them a little further, reach out to them directly to see which one you would like the best. Your customers should be able to pay with a credit card with those gateways but to be sure, your best next step is to see the links below and find the one you like the best.

Hope this helps clear this up for you.

Hi Dermott,

Nick here from Shopify.

Great question. I did some investigation on this for you. It seems like it might be something to reach out to Xero about directly as it could be on their end. While looking into this I found someone asking pretty much the same thing you have and Xero support seems to be pretty on top of explaining and helping people. You can see the link to the Xero community where this was asked and answered by someone from their team here

Hope this helps!

Edit Shipping Method Box Text by joshwatkins

Hello All

I'm really hoping one of you fine folk can help me out, I find myself in a bit of a bind.

Is there anyway I can customize the text in the SHIPPING METHOD field where it says "There are no shipping methods for your cart or destination?" I want to direct them to customer service or to our page with dealers on it.

For some teritories we have dealers and want our customers to buy from them, so we dont ship to Japan and elsewhere for that reason.

But also, we don't offer any international shipping options for orders under $300, and for orders $300 and over we charge $65. Normally this isn't an issue because our cheapest product is $600 not accounting for our accessories. However, recently we've seen some orders just for accessories from our international customers. They love our product and I'd really like to keep that love going when they want to buy accessories after the fact, but when they go to check out with, say, a $175 or $60 order, not having a shipping option really sucks for them. I want them to contact customer service so we can do a seperate shipping option specific to them (one that I dont want to add a shipping tier for because the price fluxuates so wildly depending on where it's shipping. Like from $20 to $60, so having a seperate tier doesn't make much sense.)

I know I could lower the shipping threshold to whatever the cheapest item we're willing to ship is, but who wants to pay $65 shipping on a $60 order? I also know I could do a 3rd party calculated shipping plugin but we can't upgrade our shopify at the moment to enable that feature.

I'm losing business on this silly hicup and altering the text in that shipping method field would make things so much easier for us and for our customers. Please help :)

Sending good vibes!
Josh

Hi Josh!

Thank you for giving us a little insight into your business! It’s great to have that much context.
If you’d like to change that text, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Online Store > Themes

  2. Click Actions > Edit Languages

  3. In the search filter, write “There are no shipping methods for your cart or destination”

  4. Change text in box below:

However, you may be able to get away with just using our Shopify Shipping! Shopify Shipping is for US/Canadian merchants and can do two things:

  • Allow you to print shipping labels in your admin.

  • Offer your customers real time carrier calculated rates at checkout for USPS, UPS, DHL (US Merchants), Canada Post (Canadian Merchants). The rates are based on the total weight of the order, the package size and weight, your shipping address --> customers shipping address and Shopify's negotiated rates with the carrier for the plan you are on.

Shopify Shipping real time rates and label printing is included in all plan levels. Here is a general guide on our negotiated rates.

I think what you referred to in your post is our Custom Calculated Rates. It can be used with Shopify Shipping, as the way of allowing merchants to use their third party carrier accounts to calculate the rates based on their own negotiated rates with that carrier. It also allows for integration with apps that give robust ability to specialized your shipping rates.

All that said, at this time, Shopify Shipping should be able to help - at no extra cost!
Hopefully this helps you out on your quest to helping out your loyal customer base!

Hey, Adam!

I’m Poppy one of the Guru Support team at Shopify.

I took a look into AfterShip and found this article in their help centre, which mentions that the app should have the ability to catch when the courier has changed hands. It does mention on this page though that it updates every 30 mins - 2 hours. Which means there could sometimes be a delay. There were also other articles in the centre which mentioned reaching out to the apps support if it isn't working as intended.

If you're ever having trouble with an app, you can reach out to the developer. They provide support for their apps, and their direct contact information is listed on the app page here.

Let me know if there are any updates when you reach out to them!

You can give us a call too or start a live chat at any time. We're here 24/7 and are always happy to help out!

Thank you, :)
Poppy

Shopify and Affirm Integration by David

$

Hello All,

We have a new store and just qualitfied to become an affirm merchant.  I know the coding basics to have a nice site but the skills required to integrate Affirm seem to be a bit out of reach.  I have followed their guide but there are a few variables that just don't seem to be working.

Can anyone recommend an affordable shopify expert that could perform the integration for me?

Thanks
