Hi Team,

I have a test store and currently I'm checking the payment functionality. For few orders (around 100 orders) I was able to make the payment using Credit Card.

Now the "Pay with Credit Card" button is disabled automatically and I'm not able to make the payments using credit card. Can you please help into this.

Payment Method: Shopify Payments Powered by stripe.

Thanks in Advance.

POD Returns / Exchange Policy by Joe

Hello, I am creating a new store, and using print on demand.

For any POD'ers out there, I'd appreciate your input on these questions:

1. Do you charge your customers shipping in order to cover your printer's shipping costs? Or do you factor shipping into your product price?

2. How do you handle exchanges and returns without significant loss?

3. Have any of you had any experience with Printify, Printful, or CustomCat?

Thanks,

Joe

To get the Carrier Calculated Rates feature, you’ll want to reach out to Shopify support to get it added to your plan. It’ll be $20/month a-la-carte, or free if you switch to annual billing, which will also save you 10% on your Shopify subscription.

Warm regards,
Sharon

Currency conversion help by Joanne T

I have had my store for a year and I am failing miserably. I can't generate enough traffic via social media. I have had a couple of gos at paid advertsing but still no luck. I also sell on Etsy, and Shopify is a sideline for me, so I keep it on and try to keep learning. It just occurred to me today (Doh!) that my products are no doubt displaying all over the world in $AU, my home currency. Because Etsy automatically translates a listing price to the viewer's currency, I assumed this would happen in Shopify. I'm sure this puts off what little international traffic I get, including my valued subscribers, who probably all assume the price is in $US, so I look very expensive to them. I am thinking of installing a currency conversion app but I have no ability or confidence working with code. Can anyone recommend a free, easy to install and reliable currency converter? Do these just put a converter in the checkout or is there one which will display the buyer's curency on the product pages as well? I tried changing my prices to show as $AU95.00 instead of $95.00, but Shopify won't accept this. Advice re a converter and any general feedback on my store would be appreciated.

Hi there Joanne!

Don here from Shopify. :)

I can definitely suggest a few good apps for currency conversion and provide some info about how this all works for you.

First up, these are probably the most commonly used currency apps we see in merchants' stores:

Either of these apps or any others like this will allow your customers to change the displayed currency in your store to one of their choosing.

However, it is not possible to change the home currency of your store (the one in which customers actually check out) with these apps.

You can, of course, change your store's currency in the settings > payments menu though often a payment gateway will only allow you to sell in certain currencies.

If you are unable to change the currency setting in your settings > payments menu this would be as a result of the restrictions put in place by your payment gateway and you would need to look into using a different gateway.

For stores based in Australia, the following payment gateways are available there.

Check out the apps above, reach out to their developers if you have any questions above their use (there is always a contact form and email address on any app store page you can use to contact the developers for support) and think about whether you want to just convert the currency displayed in your store or if you would want to change your store's default currency to USD entirely.

You can also always get in touch with us via our support site, anytime, 24/7. :)

All the best!

Regards,
Don

Hi there Igal!

Don here from Shopify. :)

As third-party gateway companies are separate entities to Shopify we don't have any control or say over how they operate or which clients they will choose to work with.

If you have already reached out to a few gateways to no avail then you would simply have to continue working your way through the list of all gateways available for use in Bulgaria in the hopes that you can find one which is willing to handle your business type. :)

Hopefully, some of your fellow Bulgarian merchants can add some info here from their own experience on finding a credit card gateway to work with.

All the best!

Don

Hi there!

Don here from Shopify. :)

At the moment epacket is not a supported carrier in the Shopify admin so as you have seen orders made using this service will default to 'Other' in the admin as with any other unsupported carrier.

You can, however, add the tracking for your orders to Oberlo directly.

Check out that guide from Oberlo linked above as it has got a lot of good info that will be helpful for your situation.

You can also get in touch with Oberlo directly by using the chat widget present on their site (should be in the bottom right of your window). :)

All the best!

Don

Hi there Bala!

Don here from Shopify. :)

If you are referring here to a development store created under your partner account then there are only a certain number of non-test orders you can process before needing to move this store onto a paid plan.

Not to worry, as you can still place test orders by following these steps though you won't be able to process anymore 'real' orders if you have hit this limit already.

Check out the guide linked above to see how to place test orders in your store so you can continue with your work. :)

All the best!

Don

Flexibility in Choosing Fulfillment Service Depending on Order Characteristics by Waveform Lighting

Hi everyone - looking for some tips on how we can solve a fulfilment process challenge we're facing with our USA-based Shopify store.

We currently fulfill our orders using a mix of FBA and in-house. One of our SKUs is simultaneously located both at FBA warehouses and our own warehouse, and for each order, we choose whether to use FBA or in-house fulfillment depending on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) total order size, shipping destination, cost and line item quantities / combinations.

We do this to optimize our fulfillment costs, minimize the risk of damaged during handling and shipment, and, especially for international shipments, because some orders require additional paperwork (e.g. CE declaration of conformity for EU shipments) that FBA cannot complete on our behalf.

The way we currently see it, deciding which fulfillment service to use can only be determined at the product / SKU level, within each product variant's setting. In other words, a single SKU cannot simultaneously be sometimes be fulfilled by FBA while other times fulfilled by another fulfillment service (i.e. in-house) without manually changing the product's fulfillment setting each time.

As a result, we currently only see two options, both of which have serious drawbacks:

1) Configure the SKU to be fulfilled by FBA, or

2) Configure the SKU to be fulfilled in-house

The problem with (1) is that if we decide not to proceed with FBA for a particular order (e.g. international order), there is no way to manually convert it to an in-house shipment and purchase postage through Shopify. (Purchasing postage through Shopify has been great way for us to save on shipping costs). Our workaround has been to create dummy orders with $0 value, just so that we can purchase a shipping label. For obvious reasons, this has our accounting and data analysis folks upset!

The problem with (2) is that if we decide to use FBA for a particular order, we have to manually type in the SKUs and shipping address for the order. This is unequivocally inconvenient, extremely time consuming and prevents us from scaling. On multiple occasions we have, inevitably, made errors during this manual data entry process. An additional pain point is that we have to wait for FBA to process the shipment, before we can send the tracking number (again, a manual process) to the customer.

In an ideal world, we could have some preset conditions that trigger different fulfillment services (e.g. if [line item quantity] < 2, use FBA) and process everything automatically. More realistically, we can also accept a manual review of each order to determine whether to use FBA or in-house. (We had hoped Shopify devs would have considered implementing this functionality in the standard platform back-end).

Does anyone have experience dealing with a similar issue, or have any suggestions for a solution? If absolutely necessary, we can consider custom scripts and/or code - in which case we would appreciate any high-level pointers or advice on how to implement it.

Thanks!

Josh @ Waveform Lighting

Josh,

Sounds like you have a solid business going. Here are a couple of suggestions that may help:

1. Consider using a 3rd parth fulfillment service with a Shopify integration that auto-selects the location. There are a number of fulfillment centers out there with multiple locations to help decrease shipping costs.

2. Utilize an order management tool such as Sku Vault that integrates with Shopify, FBA, and others. This also allows you to setup multiple fulfillment centers, be it your own, or FBA, or a 3rd party. Sku Vault (and others) also allow you to pick SKUs from different locations, which can be setup on the back-end and seamless for the customer and you operations.

Hope these suggestions help. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

Ahmet,

You could use a shipping integration like ShipStation to help with this issue. Likewise, eFillSource.com is here to help you find these solutions and many others in eCommerce. Feel free to reach out if you are in need.

Just make them keep sending you readers. I got a second reader for free through the POS app. (Why I wasn't offered a free one to begin with is a whole other subject, but doesn't matter now.)

Anyway, my second reader works a lot better. Not 100%, but better. It stays connected while my phone is unlocked at least.

Inventory Management With Quickbooks by Joe

Hi I have an ecommerce store for about  year and we are soon starting a brick and mortar store.

We have 500 products and it is getting confusing how much my inventory assets are worth. So my accountant told me that I should put inventory into quickbooks and then integrate sales from shopify into quickbooks automatically.

I am nervous it will get confusing once we have a POS system for our store front and I want to do it right.

Does anyone knw a good solution to manage inventory with quickbooks that also works for POS systems?

Australia Point of Sale (POS) - Assistance required by Ryan

Hi,

We;re successfully running a Shopify site now for the last 8 months.

I am now looking to open up POS for this, as we sell ticketed entry to our places we manage.

Has anyone in Australia done this successfully, and would you mind sharing with me information on how to set this up (What hardware).

I am mainly interested in the Card reader and printer.

I read that POS is coming to Australia, but that was a year ago... and that a manual external terminal is the only way.

We currently use Mastercard MIGS payments.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
