My head is about to explode. I am so extremely frustrated!!!!!! This is the SECOND chargeback that I have lost on an order where tracking confirms delivery and I also have messages from the customer that confirmed they got their order! But yet they file a claim with their bank stating they didn't get their products. Where is the seller's protection!!!! Why is it that the customer can do this! There should be some sort of action that we as shop owners can take when something like this happens. Shopify keeps shoving me in the direction of this app that is supposed to protect us against chargebacks, kind of like an insurance if you will. But it doesn't even cover chargebacks where the customer states that the item wasn't received! Help!!!! I'm about to lose my mind!

I'd like to offer my customers a 30 or 60 day free trial. I want customers to enter payment details but hold processing. Similar approach to a software trial such as LinkedIn. Is there an app or setting I can use to accomplish this? Couldn't find one...

To be clear, I do not want/need finance or a bill me later type of funcationality.

Hi Benjamin,

Seán here from Shopify.

I understand how frustrating it can be to organise orders, particularly once they get to beyond the 1500 mark. To shed some light on why orders can't be deleted, the reason is that no matter when or where there will always be a record of the order in your Admin. This is a security reason, so that you can reference the order at any stage if the need arises.

To help with organising the Orders section for your store, I've had a look here at some options and found the Edit Order app, which allows you to make edits to existing orders from within the Admin. This app may help to make changes in regards to adjusting the orders in accordance to the article examples listed. 

It has a 14-days free trial, so is definitely worth checking out to see if it can help. It's also fully supported by the app developer who can be reached by the 'Get Support' button from the app's page in the store.

Another option available is to filter your orders list by using the 'Filter orders' option to select a specific order status, and then save this search a tab along the top of the Orders page.

We have some apps that will integrate with your store and they also work alongside different fulfilment companies in India. I'll list some of them below and which shipping companies in India they integrate with!

  • Delhivery - integrates with Fedex.

  • Tracktor - integrates with DTCD India, India Post Domestic & India Post International.

  • Shipway - integrates with India Post International & DTDC India.

Kevin here - a Shopify Guru :)

This sounds like a great and exciting time for you - doing your first tradeshow!

So you are correct to say that you can't create a draft order within the POS itself on the iPad, you will need to do it from within your admin. So at the show if you are making orders on the spot you could create the draft within the iPad's browser when you are logged in and then send the invoice to the customer afterwards or at the preferred time :)

Regarding the payment aspect Austin, Shopify doesn't store any customer card data at present but you may be interested in this app - Recurring Payments, Subscriptions & Invoicing by PayWhirl.

It has a customer portal and invoicing tools and they can add their Billing details in there also.

Alternatively you could also capture the payment yourself after sending the invoice to your customers, you can read a little more about that here.

You can take a look at ZhenHub, they have fulfillment centers in China, Hong Kong, USA and UK. Shopify members have recently been looking for alternatives to Shipwire because of the drop in service level.

European Fulfillment by EarPeace

Hi Everyone!

We're in need of a new fulfillment partner in Europe. We're interested to hear from anyone who has direct experience working with a fulfillment provider who ships throughout Europe and has the following criteria:

  1. Backend - our new partner must have a backend system where we can view and edit orders, see inventory levels, etc. Doesn't have to be fancy, but is must work and be updated on a semi-regular basis (at least daily). 
  2. Integration w/Sopify - we're suprised how few UK / EU fulfillment centers integrate with Shopify. Ideally our new partner will have an integration directly with Shopify, not through a 3rd party app like ShipStation. If the connection is not already built, we would at least like to know that it is possible through well documented APIs. 
  3. Shipping w/Deutsche Post - in our experience, and with our particular products, Deutsche Post offers the most affordable shipping options in mainland Europe. Our new partner must ship using Deutsche Post. Suppose it would be nice if they were based in Germany, but this is not a prerequisite.

You are absolutely correct, currently our built-in checkout page (checkout.shopify.com) solely accepts the store's default currency, and not multiple currencies. This is a vital topic our developers have discussed, and a multiple currency checkout may be a feature in the near future. I want to express that we understand this is what our merchants want for their stores, so we are treating it as a serious request. The product prices can be displayed in a number of different currencies, either by customizing the code or with one of our automatic currency switcher apps.

That is a very interesting idea, thank you for your post! We have a few awesome apps which allow you to offer payment plans, defer payments, subscriptions, layaway programs, pre-orders, and more. I recommend reviewing these apps to see if they offer holding order processing until after 30 days or 60 days. The apps allow you to save a customer's credit card information and bill them at a later date.

As an Australian Shopify customer for the past 3 years I would appreciate the addition of COMMWEB please.  This is the payment gateway of the Commonwealth Bank available on other well known ecommerce platforms already!
