If this issue is still occurring you may want to reach out to Paypal on this issue. Because this is happening when in the checkout using the Paypal gateway for payment processing, this may very likely be on Paypal's end. If they are unable to find out what is occurring, you can email us as support@shopify.com or give us a call. We would need to be in your store to further troubleshoot this issue or would require screenshots of the error.

Paypal Express Checkout error 500 Account is restricted by Eliran - Toys and Dragons
Hi All,
When trying to pay using Paypal Express Checkout I'm getting:
Error 500 - Account is restricted.
Please notice that the store is located in Israel, accepting NIS (ILS) and this is the first time trying to pay using Paypal Express Checkout.
Shopify admin dashboard says:
After your first sale, PayPal will email you at ***@gmail.com with instructions for setting up a PayPal Merchant account and claiming your funds.
But if I can't do this first sale, how would they send it?

Hi Koren,
Chris from Shopify here. If you click on Customize Theme and enter the editor from the Online Store > Themes page, you will see an option called Price Format near the bottom of the option panel. That's where you'll find the option to turn the dollar sign on or off. Here's the option that you want to select on the option panel. Hope that helps! Have a good day :).

Hey everyone,
I was wondering what is the best way to handle the shipping costs and processing for the customers when you have items that are being fulfilled in different locations. For example, the customer orders an apple and an orange, but the apple is fulfilled in one location, while the orange is fulfilled in a completely different location. What would be the best way to handle the shipping cost and the fulfillment of the order to best satisfy the customer?

Depending on the size of your products consolidating your shipping to one location can save shipping and handling cost. 70% of the US population live East of the Mississippi so if majority of your customers are in this side of the country consolidating your shipping from the east coast could save money. FREE SHIPPING RULE NOT APPLIED AT CHECKOUT by WoB
Hello,
the issue I'mencountering is this : I've set a free shipping rule based on price. So the shipping should be free when the customers hit $150 of sales.
But this rule doesn't apply and so the customer has to pay the shipping fees.
I've checked the rule is applied in the right zone, so I don't see what I could have done wrong...
What can I do?

Allowing customers to order when shipping costs for a state are "on request" by Mark Williams
My store ships to the states in the contgious US. So, I have a shipping zone that excludes Hawaii and Alaska.
I ask potential customers in those states to contact me for a quote for shipping. But, assuming they are OK with the cost, I don't know how to allow them to enter their order (given that their state isn't in my shipping zone).
Is there anyway to create a shipping zone that effectively indicates that precise shipping costs will be provided later or some other approach?

Recently my opencart stores were hacked, and I like to know if my shopify store is inrisk. Over all because the hacker stole my passwords and personal info from my computer.
And I find out the opencart sites had malware that deny all paypal payments. Of course I dont know how to take out that code and I am worry the hacker can do the same in my shopify store by adding malware.
Who can I ask to check all my shopify store? I really need it as soon as posible

The free shipping is a very useful marketing strategy which has been approved on Taobao, the largest C2C market in the world. It has 8.5 million sellers and nearly 98% of them offer free shipping service to attract traffics and sales in their store.
However, it is hard to do so in Shopify or Ebay because there's no cluster effects in those stores. Taobao has very large traffic everyday, at the beginning it will promote the stores which have free shipping service, then gradually customers get used to free shipping and it is a very important issue when customer make their purchase decision. Although Shopify and Ebay has huge traffics, they do not have the same marketing strategy like Taobao thus it is hard for small business to offer free shipping service to attract traffics and generate sales alone.

Yeah it is, you can set a VAT rate in your paypal account, once they pay via paypal, the total cost will include the VAT rate but I don't suggest you to do so, it will affect the payment rate, I'd rather increase the price listed on the store, if there's an additional fee it will seriously affect the customer payment rate. Think about it, who don't love cheap things.

I have to agree... this is an issue. I've been trying to figure this out for a while, not knowing there was no solution to it. So, these orders will just be in the unfufullfilled tab for the rest of our lives? That doesn't seem acceptable.

Weight Based Shipping Not Working by theEvo

I checked that products have weight, and currect shipping from address.
