Hi There,

We've been working on an app that might solve your problem.

The app is called Better Shipping and is currently in beta. It can be found here http://apps.shopify.com/better-shipping in the Shopify App Store.

Better Shipping allows you to set the delivery rate on a zip/post code basis. It also allows you to limit deliveries to certain areas only and set delivery rates for individual products.

Thank you very much for your reply.

It's great to hear that you're working on it and that you already are in contact with Klarna. That's positive!

But since you havn't really begun the development work yet it seems like it will take at least a couple of months more for you to finish the integration. That's fair enough, but I can't wait that long so I will unfortunately have to move to another platform. As you can see I posted my first post in this discussion 8 months ago so I have already waited quite a long time..

Hi Atom Yard, the problem is I see in your fine print you need to have the upgraded Shopify account that has real-time shipping calculation. If I wanted to spend that much a month, I wouldn't need your app or have a problem in the first place, as the real-time shipping would calculate it for me!

The problem is some of us can't afford the expensive monthly plan to have the real-time shipping option, so we would like to manually enter our shipping rates. However, the options for entering shipping rates manually are sorely lacking.

Yeah, I can definitely appreciate your enthusiasm. Alas both my visual basic and other language skills are a little rusty, so I can't directly be of much help. 

Rest assured, we are looking to make the most elegant and useful solution for you and other shop owners, and sometimes that requires more research than it'd appear. With everything we do, we need to make sure we're hitting the nail on the head and that can take some time. 

Thanks for getting on my case, though.

There's a rumor going around that Shopify is dropping FBA integration.  Please tell me this is not the case.  The major reason I signed a long term deal was for the FBA integration...

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your feedback. The app does need a Shopify plan with the 'real time carrier shipping' feature enabled.

Our app works a bit differently with regards to generating shipping rates. Better Shipping provides the seller with the ability to independently set shipping rates away from any carriers. For example, if you are using couriers, you can set the rate based on the zip/post code and/or the individual items to be shipped. We created this app due to requests from Shopify store owners and have had excellent feedback so far.

We would love to offer our app to all users, however, Shopify restrictions only allow the app to work on the "Business Plan" and above.

I am also in a country that cannot use Stripe.

How can we run a shopping cart that does not calculate shipping? Etsy ads on shipping via Pay Pal and it is free - what is the issue and what is the workaround in the meantime?

Hi, I currently use PayPal Express for payment in my store, I want to change the PayPal account I use and i can see no way to do this. I have tried deactivating it, but when I then select PayPal Express it just reverts to my original account and doesn't give me an option to change it

Ryan,

Just so I am clear...

When the customer places the $0 preorder, they enter all of their contact information, but are not prompted for their payment information?

When the customer is contacted via email to complete their order so that the product can ship, do they have to enter all of their contact information again, plus their credit card info?

How do you change the price and direct the customer to the right place to complete the purchase?

Thats correct Philip.

When a preorder £0 product is purchased a customer record is created in Shopify. When you are ready you could send the user a link inviting them to create their account and also direct them to purchase the full priced product (this is a different product in Shopify). Using the admin, you can change the messaging on the invite email that is sent by Shopify. This should stop them having to enter their address again, but I think each account invite email needs to be sent manually, which can be a pain.

No credit card details are stored and payment is only taken when (if) the user purchases the full priced product.

Taxes for general merchandise and clothing by Michael Natole

Can anyone tell us if you can set up the taxes and products on your store to do both? General merchandise and clothing tax? Products can only be taxable or non-taxable so how do you set one product up for general merchandise and one for clothing? General merchandise is taxes at 8% and clothing is taxed at 4% for an example. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here are some numbers to check on the status of a credit card if you suspect fraud: 

American Express 1-800-528-5200
Discover Card 1-800-347-2000
Visa/MasterCard 1-800-228-1122

Figuring out if a customer has moved or if a credit card is being used fraudulently can be a difficult thing to identify through manual internet searches. I

work at Signifyd and we just launched our new fraud prevention app in the Shopify app store, which you can download and try for free. Among other

features included our ability to check the BIN (what is the bank identification number?), so you can ship orders with confidence. If you are having any

Fraudulent purchases in the digital goods space is rampant as most goods are 'delivered' instantly, only for the retailer to find out later that the cardholder 

was not who they said they were when a chargeback is issued. I work for a company called Signifyd, and among the arsenal of tools we use to verify

purchases is our ever growing database of cross-merchant emails. We can tell you in our order analysis how old an email is, if this is the first time we

have seen this email, and if the email has been used in connection with a fraudulent order or chargeback in the past. Signifyd has recently released its
